  This study is motivated by the challenges noted in the literature and experienced by design practitioners in defining and assessing creativity in multicultural background. Following the conceptual framework of previous study of the Creativity Concepts Inventory (CCI) with 128 items (Leung, 2016), the proposed study will further be revalidating the existing items in convergent and discriminant validity in cultural differences perspective. Two constructs of expert level creativity (Pro-c) in single faceted and HPS-creativity, Historical creativity (H-creativity); Psychological creativity (P-creativity) and Situated creativity (S-creativity), in multifaceted creativity concepts will be validated between east and west participants. The Creative Self-Efficacy Inventory (Abbott, 2010) will be used to validate the external validity with Pro-c and HPS-creativity scales. Specific questions arising from this research are: 1) Do all items in the same scale discriminated to Chinese and non-Chinese? 2) What are the differences of the scales across Chinese and non-Chinese? 3) What are the relationships of CSE scale between Chinese and non-Chinese? A four-phase scales validation (Construct Map, Items Design, Outcome Space and Measurement Model) will be conducted.  The current project is an initial investigation aim to validating the Creativity Concepts Inventory (CCI 2.0), second stage of items development, for assessing the cultural impact to Pro-c and HPS-creativity Scales. The finding revealed the literature of paradigm shift of creativities in explaining the differences of fundamental constructs upon the creativity concepts in knowledge dimension for educational and professional use.
